They will sue you if you speak up for your rights. This neighborhood is small, with only 62 homes, and we thought that would be perfect since we could not find a home that was not part of an HOA. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. Board members fly drones over your home and call the police for on-street parking, regardless of whether it’s for parties or having company over. As soon as I spoke up, asked questions, and pointed out bad behavior, my family was instantly retaliated against. When I asked the board and management company for help, I was told it was a neighbor-to-neighbor dispute and that they couldn’t do anything. That left us with no choice but to file with the courts. I asked for a copy of our HOA insurance declaration page because we didn’t want our neighbors to be affected financially by this decision. One of the board members—the same individual who consistently harassed our family—decided to sue us for defamation, using my email to the HOA and management company (William Douglas Management Company) asking for help as the basis for the lawsuit. It’s sickening that homeowners have to live in fear in a place that should be their safe place and sanctuary. They completely lied and made false accusations in the lawsuit. They continue to allow this person to remain on the board. There is no accountability, only fear for the victims. Don’t move here. We are not the only ones.
