I didn't set out to build a platform — I just got fed up.
After experiencing firsthand how unaccountable, opaque, and frankly hostile HOAs can be, I did what any frustrated homeowner with a startup background would do: I built something. HOAReviewer.com, powered by RottenHOAs.com, is the result — a platform giving homeowners a real, anonymous voice and giving homebuyers the transparency they deserve before signing on the dotted line.
I grew up around real estate. With family deeply rooted in the industry, I understood early that the home-buying process had plenty of tools for evaluating a property — but nothing for evaluating the HOA that comes with it. That gap, combined with my own frustrating experience and years working across early-stage startups, made the problem impossible to ignore.
I built RottenHOAs.com the way good consumer products get built: starting with a real grievance, talking to real people, and iterating fast. What started as a place to vent has grown into a consumer-advocacy platform reshaping how homeowners, buyers, realtors, and attorneys think about HOA accountability.
