Biggest waste of Annual Dues!
Biggest waste of Annual Dues! Been here since 2021. As the story goes with Hoas. We have 25 miles of private gravel roads. We send in almost $400 a year for dues. The 5 member board spends nearly half of the 75k collected a year on non road services. Legal, management, insurance and then roads get a little. We have the group of outsiders living here. They want this to be like the states they left. They love meddling in homeowners business.
FAQ
Wyoming HOA Questions
Q1:Does Wyoming have a specific HOA law?
Wyoming does not have a comprehensive planned community HOA act. Wyoming HOAs are governed by their CC&Rs, bylaws, and the Wyoming Nonprofit Corporation Act (Wyo. Stat. § 17-19-101 et seq.).
Q2:Can a Wyoming HOA restrict hunting or firearms on privately owned lots?
Generally no. Wyoming strongly protects property and firearm rights. HOAs typically cannot restrict lawful firearm ownership or use within privately owned lots, though they may regulate common areas.
Q3:What can a Wyoming homeowner do if an HOA board isn't following its own rules?
Document the violations and raise them in writing with the board. If unresolved, call a special member meeting to address the issue, or consult an attorney about filing suit for breach of the governing documents.
