Community is mostly owners over 75 and the community consists of people who have never lived in a HOA and don't know MN 5:15 or the communities Rules and Regulations. The board does things without other owners input or knowledge and then state "well the board can do that." The president is 86 yrs old and a narcissist who shuts anyone down that questions any of his decisions. He will harass anyone who questions him and run them into the ground to other owners. People are scared to stand up to him, because they know how he will react. People will not run for the board, because of the turmoil in the community and that constant backbiting of each other.

FAQ

Minnesota HOA Questions

Q1:Does Minnesota have a specific HOA law?

Yes. Minnesota has the Minnesota Common Interest Ownership Act (MCIOA), Minn. Stat. § 515B, which governs planned communities, condominiums, and cooperatives in the state.

Q2:Can a Minnesota HOA restrict clotheslines?

Yes. Minnesota does not have a 'right to dry' law prohibiting HOA clothesline bans, so HOAs may restrict or prohibit outdoor clotheslines through their governing documents.

Q3:Are Minnesota HOA board meetings open to homeowners?

Yes. Under MCIOA, Minnesota HOA board meetings must generally be open to unit owners, though executive sessions may be held for legal, personnel, or other sensitive matters.
