HOAs in Georgia
Chicopee Crossing
Gainesville, Georgia
Poorly cleaned and managed.
Poorly cleaned and managed. Mailboxes broken and poorly maintained. Play ground is literally falling apart and is unsafe. Any number of code violations from residents on any given day. Noise, litter, pets unleashed. Stray cats everywhere. No one seems to care about this community. It’s actually sad.
FAQ
Georgia HOA Questions
Q1:What law governs HOAs in Georgia?
Georgia HOAs are governed by the Georgia Property Owners' Association Act (O.C.G.A. § 44-3-220 et seq.), though only associations that have formally opted in are fully covered by it.
Q2:Can a Georgia HOA restrict the number of vehicles per household?
Yes, if the restriction is in the CC&Rs or rules. Georgia courts have upheld reasonable vehicle restrictions in HOA communities as long as they are applied uniformly.
Q3:How can a Georgia homeowner dispute an HOA fine?
Homeowners can request a hearing with the board, file a complaint with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, or pursue arbitration or litigation if the dispute isn't resolved internally.
