Proactive HOA, Problematic Leadership.
Proactive HOA, Problematic Leadership. This HOA used to be good, although even then, far too many things were allowed to slide. Now, the HOA seems interested in being more proactive, which could be a positive change. Unfortunately, that progress is being overshadowed by two board members whose attitudes and behavior have become a serious problem for the community. The biggest issue is their apparent lack of accountability. These two seem to think they own the place and can operate by their own rules without being held to the same standards as everyone else. There is a difference between being proactive and being controlling, and a difference between serving a community and acting like you have authority over everyone in it. Their conduct raises serious questions about oversight, fairness, and who is holding these board members accountable for their own actions. An HOA board is supposed to represent the homeowners, not bully them, alienate them, or make them feel unwelcome in their own neighborhood. The fact that some residents are now considering moving because of these two individuals should be a major wake-up call. No HOA should become a reason people want to leave a community they once enjoyed living in. There is potential for this HOA to improve, but that will require genuine accountability, consistent standards, and board members who understand that their positions are a responsibility, not a license to act as though they own the place. Right now, these two are doing serious damage to the community and its residents' confidence in the board.
