Complete scam! My neighbor’s townhouse caught fire, and the damage affected my property as well. The fire melted my fence and siding and burned holes in my window screens. The HOA promised to repair the damage to my townhouse and reimburse me for the fence and the air filtration fans I had to rent. Several months later, nothing has been done. The HOA is now refusing to repair the exterior damage or reimburse me for the fence. The fan company only got paid after threatening legal action and putting a lien on my house. Don’t expect them to lift a finger to help with anything. On top of that, the entire neighborhood has more weeds than grass at this point. They won’t even replace the dead plants between my house and the one that caught fire. I have health issues that make manual labor difficult, which is why I chose a home with an HOA in the first place. Now I wish I hadn’t.
