I own a condo in Park Villa South in Mission Valley, and there was a leak from the condo above mine. Because I was the one responsible for calling it in and giving them access to make the repairs, I am now paying for it. They had their contractors remove my entire bathroom down to the studs due to mold, but they have not done the same to any of the other units, which definitely have visible mold as well. Supposedly, they treated it, but it has still failed the air quality test twice. Now, a month later, they intend to simply close it up with drywall without replacing the shower they removed or even putting back the cement board above the tub that I had to purchase to waterproof that side of the room. They want to leave it open to the studs. At this point, after paying for an Airbnb for a month, it is frustrating trying to get them to do the most common-sense things. According to the HOA memorandum, it is the HOA’s responsibility to take care of everything inside the walls, yet they don’t want to properly close the wall or replace the 50-year-old pipes that were visibly corroded. Again, it has been a month of being put out of my home with no bathroom, and there is no urgency to complete a small bathroom repair that a handyman could have finished in a weekend. I also left multiple messages for our representative and never received a return call.
