We wound up with SBB because SBC sold themselves to them. We wound up with SBC because Chapparal sold themselves to them, and on and on. SBB has been in place here since the first of the year and have already made many people mad with the invention of their own rules for landscaping, etc. They have also already raised our assessment rate to $700 for next year. The only thing they do is pay for trash, streetlights, and insurance for a playground no one uses. I am currently at war with them over an inspector who one day dinged me for tall grass and “many tall weeds.” The grass was all new and had just been placed two weeks before, with no weeds anywhere. They also dinged me for having a row of oleander bushes between my drive and the next-door driveway. Next door are renters, the worst people ever. Since I cannot place a fence there, the bushes are the next best thing. The inspectors want them cut. There are no definitive rules for bushes, nothing about height, width, or shape. Same goes for bushes in front of the house, which now they want below the window, which is only one foot from the ground. I consider myself a reasonable person and capable of making good decisions and do not need someone else to tell me what to do.
