If you are considering buying a home or renting in an area managed by this company, RUN. Seriously. Don’t look back, don’t rationalize it, and don’t convince yourself your experience will somehow be different. Based on my personal experience, their customer service has been absolutely atrocious. What should be routine communication with a property management company has instead been an exercise in frustration, arrogance, and an astonishing lack of concern for the people they are supposed to serve. And if you read their responses to negative reviews, you’ll see exactly what I mean. Rather than demonstrating professionalism, empathy, or any genuine interest in resolving concerns, their responses come across as incredibly smug and dismissive. There seems to be far more energy devoted to defending themselves and talking down to people with legitimate complaints than actually addressing the underlying problems. My advice is simple: do your homework before you buy or rent. Read the negative reviews—not just the glowing ones. Look into BBB complaints. Search court records and federal lawsuits. Read the company’s responses carefully and look for patterns rather than assuming every negative experience is isolated. I wish I had done considerably more research beforehand. A property management company has enormous influence over people’s homes, finances, and everyday lives. You deserve to know who you’re dealing with before putting yourself in that position. Research them thoroughly before signing anything. Once you’re committed, finding out what other residents and customers have experienced may be too late.
