Only been a year! I was asked if I wanted to join a group of people to talk about what is going on in Canadian Lakes. There are 25 of us. Besides the dues going up every year, they add more fees and raise those fees each year too. Seems to be to get more money out of us each year. Some of our group live in what is called site condos. They are single-family homes but legally are considered ‘condos’. Per Michigan Condo Act, the condos should have a board of co-owners, but they don’t. Why is that? Why is it that anyone who wants to see any association documents is not allowed and is told we don’t have proper purpose? We are raising funds to hire an attorney, so we’ll see how it goes.

You've been warned. Just don't. Never seen a place run so poorly. They don't appear to follow any deed restrictions. And there are over 45 of them. They just lump them all together and have a big vote. Problem is they are all a separate contract. Most all have different way to amend, some have no way to amend. Property owners suck up whatever they are shoveling for the day. Never seen a neighborhood so blind.
